Description

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) is the main metadata archive for permanent storage of registered DOE DOI products (datasets, code, articles, patents, multimedia, etc.). When a DOI is minted a unique OSTI identifier for each record {osti_id} is provided as the suffix in the DOI schema ({site-specific-prefix}/{user-supplied-doi-infix}/{osti_id}) and can be alternatively used as the main product identifier endpoint when searching OSTI.GOV registry archive (see example below). OSTI.GOV is the primary registry and search tool for all Department of Energy (DOE) funded science, technology, and engineering research and development (R&D) results and the organizational hub for information about the DOE Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI.

@cthoyt feel free to suggest other options for the prefix as there could be a couple variations.
