For the description sentence "Acid and gas are not produced from D-glucose. " MicroPIE is not extracting anything. Should extract "not acid#not gas".

For the description text: "Acid is not produced from D-glucose or maltose (each at 0.5 %, w/v). " MicroPIE is not extracting anything. The correct result should be "not acid".

For the description text" "The major end products of glucose fermentation in PYG broth are succinic and acetic acids. ......Positive for acid production from cellobiose, glucose, lactose, maltose, D-mannose, melezitose, raffinose, L-rhamnose, salicin, sucrose, trehalose and D-xylose. Acid production from L-arabinose, glycerol, D-mannitol and D-sorbitol is weakly positive. " MicroPIE is returning "acetic#Acid". The correct result should be "succinic#acetic#Acid"

For the description text: "The major fatty acids are summed feature 3 (comprising C16 :1ω7c and/or C16:1ω6c), iso-C15:0 and C15:1ω6c....... Does not produce acid from D-xylose, D-fructose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, methyl α-D-glucoside, methyl α-D-mannoside, glycogen, creatinine, ornithine, starch, sorbose, citric acid, sodium gluconate, pyruvic acid, rhamnose, erythritol, adonitol, inositol, D-mannitol or raffinose after 1 week at 18 ˚C. " MicroPIE is returning "Acid". The correct result should be "not acid".

For the description text: "Hydrogen gas was not produced. " MicroPIE is returning "Gas". The correct result should be "not gas".

For the description text: "Fermentation reactions: Acid but no gas is formed from aesculin, amygdalin, arabinose, cellobiose, dextrin, galactose, glucose, glycogen, inulin, lactose, levulose, maltose, mannose, melezitose, raffinose, salicin, starch, surcrose, trehalose, and xylose. " MicroPIE is returning "Acid". The correct result should be "acid#not gas".

For the description text: "Using the API 20A system, produces acid from glucose, lactose, sucrose, maltose, salicin, D-xylose, D-cellobiose, D-mannose and D-raffinose, but not from D-mannitol, L-arabinose, glycerol, D-melezitose, D-sorbitol, L-rhamnose or D-trehalose. .....The major end products [from 1% (w/v) peptone/1% (w/v) yeast extract/1% (w/v) glucose broth culture] are succinic and acetic acids; small amounts of isovaleric acid are also produced." MicroPIE is returning "Acid#acetic#isovaleric acid". The correct result should be "Acid#succinic#acetic#isoveleric".

For the description text "From peptone-yeast extract-glucose broth cultures, major amounts of succinate and acetate, often with trace amounts of propionate and isovalerate, are detected; only a trace of hydrogen is detected in headspace gas. Pyruvate is converted to acetate." MicroPIE is returning "isovalerate#propionate#acetate#succinate#gas#hydrogen#pyruvate". The correct result should be "succinate#acetate#propionate#isovalerate#gas#hydrogen".

From the description text "From peptone-yeast extract-glucose broth cultures, major amounts of succinate and acetate, often with trace amounts of propionate, isobutyrate, or isovalerate, are detected; no hydrogen, or only a trace amount, is detected in headspace gas. " MicroPIE is returning "Acid#isovalerate#isobutyrate#propionate#acetate#succinate#hydrogen#pyruvate". The correct result should be "Acid#isovalerate#isobutyrate#propionate#acetate#succinate#not hydrogen".

For the description text ". From peptone-yeast extract-glucose broth, major amounts of succinate and acetate, often with moderate amounts of formate and propionate, and usually trace amounts of isobutyrate and isovalerate, are produced; no hydrogen is detected in headspace gas. " MicroPIE is returning "isovalerate#isobutyrate#propionate#formate#acetate#pyruvate". The correct result should be "isovalerate#isobutyrate#propionate#formate#acetate#succinate#acetate#no hydrogen".

For the description text: "Major end products of glucose metabolism in PYG broth are acetic, succinic, formic and lactic acids. " MicroPIE is returning "acids#succinic#acetic". The correct result should be "succinic#acetic#formic#lactic".

We discussed about whether we should extract something like "not acid" for Fermentation Production. Our decision is NO.

OK - thanks for that confirmation - after some thought about what the matrix would look like, I think this makes sense.

Hi Jin,

Just to let you know - there seems to be a lot of errors in this category so if you need any additional training examples, just let me know.
