Create NIAID Data Ecosystem Portal on the DDE #236

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. The NIAID Data Ecosystem is a overarching Ecosystem which ingests metadata Immunological and Infectious Disease related metadata. This includes metadata from the NIAID SysBio DDWG. The NIAID Data Ecosystem needs its own portal in the DDE

Describe the solution you'd like

  1. Create a portal in the DDE for the NIAID Data Ecosystem. The design and copy/text for the NDE portal in the DDE can be found here

  2. Enable a way to flag submissions via the NDE portal as having been reviewed/approved or not. This will not be part of the official schema as it is meant to be used internally for determining which datasets get pulled into the NDE.

    • Metadata submissions via the NDE portal in the DDE should have this flagged as pending review by default
      • maybe use the field _status ?
      • it will only have three potential states: pending review, inclusion approved, inclusion denied, however the exact wording for inclusion approved and inclusion denied have yet to be finalized. pending review should be fine to use.
    • Allow editing of the flag to inclusion approved or inclusion denied by manual or bulk upload/update through privileged accounts.
    • Enable the display of whether a dataset is approved or not in the DDE's metadata (like how it's displayed for n3c records)

  3. List the NIAID Data Discovery Ecosystem Portal is listed before the NIAID SysBio DDWG portal in the namespace view of schemas (see additional context)

Describe alternatives you've considered A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.

Additional context Since the NIAID Data Discovery Ecosystem is a parent collection, it would be nice if the NIAID SysBio DDWG portal could be visually displayed as a child portal of the NDE portal. This is a nice-to-have, but not required, change.

Based on the feedback with the NIAID team at a meeting dated 2024.03.06 the current usage of the NDE portal on the DDE does not justify the inclusion of a review process for the movement of records from the DDE's NDE portal into the NDE. For this reason, no further action is needed for this issue, and this issue can be considered completed.
