I have updated the documentation to the best of my ability.
README has been changed to README.md, with information and style added.
Superfluous files pointed to the Google Code wiki have been removed, the new Wiki's markdown files can be found here (Wiki's can't be merged through a PR).
I removed images that pointed to Google Code, which were all 404ing.
There is still some work to be done for documentation.
Notably, I think the parts about the Development Environment and Building From Source might need to be modernized--I don't know enough about Android development and your personal development chain to be able to comment here.
There are links pointing to old Google Code issues and revisions, as well as example code snippets. Some or all of these can maybe be translated to what is now here on Github.
