Item names in Database do not match Itemnames from the Killmail #209

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem? (only examples)
1. Having a kill, where Scripts are involved. (market group ID)
2. Adaptive Invulnerability Field II does not exist in the DB.
3. DB ENTRY: Medium Core Defence Field Extender I <-- KM says its "DefenSe"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect that kills can be postet, instead there are error messages saying that
certain Items do not exist. Some Itemnames are just misspelled. Some items do
not exist.

What version of the board are you using? e.g. 3.2.3 or 4.0 revision
4b53033f8a1b.
4.0.4 (Crucible)

What version of PHP and MySQL does the board run on?
Mysql-Server Version: 5.0.91
PHP is pretty new. Certainly not part of the problem since the database is
wrong.

What is the url of a page where the error occurs or has occurred?
During posting a new Killmail.

Please provide any additional information below.
The data in the database does not match the keywords from current killmails.
This is mainly experienced with Itemnames (kb3_invtypes).
To be sure i dont work on a curruped database i redownloaded the newest version
of EDK and used the importscripts from (..packages\database\kb3_invtypes)
manually on the database in the right order. But it seems that every
missing/wrong itemname has to be added or replaced by the right version
manually. this is rather impossible for maintenance. Please provide a database
package with corrected itemnames.

This happens whenever CCP rename some items (so expect it to happen a lot in
the near future). The easiest way to work around the problem until an update to
EDK is released is fetching the killmails through the API.

i DO fetch all my kills through the API. The prroblem is: once the itemnames
differ from CCPs live version, the killmail won't even be imported through
API-fetch.

Can we get an easier way to change names in KB to avoid this? So we can use the
upgrade function in the KB Upgrade area or something?

Oh man it would be great if this problem is fixed or a Database update is an
option through the Killboard's Upgrade page.

I have the same issues here. I also have a "Ghost" Update on the upgrade menu.
It indicates that there is an update but no file there.

The current rubicon database can be found here:
http://www.evekb.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=503&t=21640

Release of EDK 4.0.5 is here:
http://www.evekb.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=503&t=21648

The "ghost" update is also not there anymore with the release of 4.0.5.

Closing this issue.
