MacFUSE should have a GUI Client #9

This is not an defect but a feature-wish :).

I would like to see a GUI Client that makes this usable for my Sister or my
Mother. They don't use the Terminal.

Ps: Thanks for the great work !

I assume by GUI client, you mean an interface to mount and unmount?

Unmounting should eventually be possible just through ejecting in the Finder,
though that doesn't seem to work
yet. As for mounting, I agree a little utility could help.

A GUI client for which filesystem? FUSE alone is just a framework through which
filesystems can be written.

OTOH, wrappers for common filesystems like sshfs would be good. We have some
source
code that illustrates a simple approach to wrapping an sshfs volume mount. I'm
trying
to get it into the source repository.

I know this isn't a perfect world, but would there be some way for someone
"connecting to a server" in Finder
being able to type out sshfs://..... and have it all Just Work? Does Apple
provide a way for third party filesystems
to register a protocol?

"Connect to Server" is private to Apple. It's trivial to do some binary
patching to make it work for ssh:// URIs
though.
