Indeed, PageSigner doesn't seem to work very often (if at all).
Veruv does seem to work better than PageSigner, in my limited testing, but pages are actually loaded remotely in order for the service to work, so I'm hesitant to recommend it to users in documentation.
Are arbitrators actually using Veruv? If so, maybe the network should consider hosting its own Veruv back-end to avoid trusting the Veruv company/developers.
Or devote resources to improving PageSigner itself (if feasible).
I will see if we can get some arbitrator or mediator feedback to see how to proceed here.
IMO whatever works is worth to be recommended or at least mentioned in the documentation. The limitations or concerns, which I share, can should be mentioned too so users can make an informed decision.
As of now, new users actually reading the documentation (like me) are directed to a disfunctional software that doesn't solve their problem.
Also I think many users are uncertain about what to do, as buying/selling Bitcoin on a decentralized service is not a well established practice, so they are in need of valid information.
In my last transaction when I called an mediator (the first one) I added a link to veruv to prove my point. After that, the transaction was completed, so I think the mediator had a look at my receipt.
We've updated PageSigner to work with TLS 1.2 . You will now have more stable notarization experience. Available only for Chromium browsers. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pagesigner/abblaaeblmamacadkdmnejjikbdkemcj
The Docs recommend the extension Pagesigner for firefox and chrome to prove to the arbitratior that payments did actualy happen
Unfortunately PageSigner seems to be Abandonware: It is no longer available in the Firefox AddOns Library and it only supports TLS 1.0/1.1, while most banks use TLS 2.0, rendering PageSigner incompatible. see bisq forum
In the Forum, community members recommend Veruv.com. I am unable to evaluate if Veruv is an appropriate replacement but since PageSigner doesn't work at all it may be the only choice to provide evidence of payments done with online banking services.
