Add GCash and Maya for the users in the Philippines #250

Open iamflorencejay opened 2 years ago

iamflorencejay commented 2 years ago

Why

GCash and Maya is the leading E-wallet solutions in the Philippines as mandated by the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas. References here:

Region

Philippines only

Currencies

PHP

Chargeback risk

None so far, because it is done directly when you send. And also you can send money when you're upgraded, which is required by BSP or the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines).

Also, for fraudulent transactions (which cannot be faked because it is considered illegal by law: aka bogus buyers), it can be done on the website or via call, so if this is considered a true fraudulent, it can be reported.

Size of user base

As I said, 70% or more uses these e-wallet in the Philippines amid the pandemic.

Data requirements

Verification

These transactions automatically generated a receipt on the platform.

Duration

Instantly.

Fees

Zero fees if Express send to GCash to GCash or Maya to Maya.

Fraud risk

These payments are monitored by the AMLC or Anti Money Laundering Council to prevent these kinds of dirty money to be recycled.

Payment amounts

Maximum is 100,000 pesos daily for these two e-wallet providers.

Payment description

If the transaction is sent, it is just the receipt directly and the transaction details are included.

Hi @iamflorencejay many thanks for suggesting these payment methods.

Minimum is 100,000 pesos daily for these two e-wallet providers.

Please can you let me know what the maximum amount is?

What information does the receiver of the funds see about the sender?

The phone number and just the payment. Or via QR if they want to.

Hi @iamflorencejay that is great. I will investigate these two payment methods for adding to Bisq.

I think this would be a really great idea for onboarding Filipinos to non-KYC Bitcoin since these two wallets just about cover ~90% of all Filipinos who use e-cash in the Philippines. I think, at the moment, there's just two (?) easily accessible ways to acquire Bitcoin here and both are KYC.

Updated the description and the title because PayMaya is now Maya
