pazza83 is the mediator

After buying small amount of btc using e-transfer i felt comfortable to buy a bigger transaction of around 1560 cad

Within minutes after I sent the fund, the seller told me about the auto deposit option that I needed to have with my bank in order to do the trade.

So I found that to be very weird since i never heard of that. So I went to matrix right away to know how to proceed.

20220720_144519

So I wait the 24 hours to start a dispute, if I remember. I was still very aware that the seller could accept my payment and skip town.

So i was not to close the trade without receiving the funds back opbviously. To all the canadian banks cartel the Caisse populaire must be the worst. Nothing was mention about any auto deposit thing and my funds was stuck somewhere i wasn't able to see.

Anyways the pain in dealing with them....I had to go physically there and talk to a teller on how to retrieve the funds.

Keep in mine Im not 24 hours in front of myu computer ( like I used to in my web dev days )

So I told the mediator that everything is ok and close the trade. I taught that everything was ok.

I didn't feel it was a honest thing from the seller to have the auto deposit option wihout a mention anywhere. I think it would be the appropriate thing to compensate me for the lost of time because crypto is all about time.

Because i don't really care about btc I want Monero. Anyways I didn't care about the compensation even if the seller was dishonest, I just wanted to have the btc unlocked and move on. Add a note not to buyt from her

One or two days after, since I am doing a lot of other things, Dont remember. I felt I had to go back to see what was going on for some type of confirmation to see my btc unlocked. That's when I had the Bisq fuck-up. Seeing the password prompt stuck in the taskbar.

I install the new update into another folder. I tried multiple things by reinstalling and unstalling or whatever without any success. And reach out to matrix after trying everything. And fix the problem which was an easy fix. Taught it was my computer having some problem. Because I have a lot on it going on. Like a lot!! Evrything is easy when you know how to do it. Very weird problem at the worst time for me at least.

20220719_161714

So I start the bisq but I didn't see any arbitrator chat box open.... nothing. I think I had 2 or three bisq install. I think their was multiple instance of bisq open and one was older then the other. Just don't remember.

Anyways I manage to have the good one open and saw that the arbitration open and chat with him. Everything is there in the logs. I did not review any logs since I know what I did.

I feel the arbitrator, instead of closing the trade and let everybody go their own ways, decide to compensate the seller because I did not respond within the time. YEah good. Close the trade and thats it

Why giveaway the locked btc to the dishonest guy. Because I did not respond? No the reason was I did not want to sent the fund because of the price drop!!! WHAT!!

I feel the arbitrator did not review anything and was influence by the seller or whatever, I don't; know! So frustrating. YEah I talk about the price drop for me to have a little something for ME not the reason for ME to NOT paid the seller. This is so ridiculous.

Do you have the logs to be review for a final logical conclusion of this mess or I have to give out the logs. Dont know what to do

Everything is so obvious anyways. EVERYTHING IS UPSIDE DOWN.

Really good reflection of the real world!

I felt I had a good thing here. Will see. Banks are going down anyways

I wish you had been a bit more pro-active in reaching out to the support channel; you got a solution within hours of posting .. why wait 2 weeks with a mediation pending?

BTW the logs were reviewed here https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq/issues/6297

From the wiki > Rules for Bitcoin Buyers:

https://bisq.wiki/Trading_rules#Collaborate_with_mediators_and_arbitrators_2

Collaborate with mediators and arbitrators

In case of a dispute, users must respond to inquiries within 48 hours and providing materials as requested to determine an outcome.

Mediators may take up to 48 hours to respond to messages, and arbitrators may take up to 5 days to respond to messages.

pazza83 commented 2 years ago

@vsium re-opened the mediation ticket on 9th July to query the refund of their security deposit. By this time the arbitrator had already paid as per their summary above.

When trading on Bisq all traders need to make sure they are in communication with the mediators and/or arbitrators in the case of any trades in dispute.

I can see why @vsium is frustrated from their experience but I also think the correct process was followed by Bisq.

@vsium did you contact anyone about your issues about not being able to connect prior to the 7th July?

vsium commented 2 years ago

No I respond to you on July 9. And the arbitration chat box wasnt there like I told you on that. ITs when I started my more recent of my bisq installation that the arbitration notification was there.

I know you probably just putting the summary notes that was posted but this is just NOT TRUE. Assumption and assumptions.

Summary notes: Buyer did not want to send payment because of BTC price dropping,

And Summary notes: BTC Buyer did not want to complete the trade after due to price drop BTC Buyer at fault for not wanting to complete trade ..............( yeah well i coudn't ) My bank don't do that option. Well it's a Caisse not a bank. Part of the same scam anyways.

I was not about to resend another payment to the seller without making sure I can access the funds. And obviously I would have been better to contact you before. But in my mind I told you that I got my fund back and close the trade. But now I know the arbitrator have the final say in it. I think the mediator can't close a trade? Can it? anyways

It was just a click to the abitrator from me to close the issue and save me this hassle. I was not trying to sail into the sunset with an empty bag. The seller in the other hand. Oooh yeah! Just had another option that most people probably don't have and wish for somebody like me that is not always in front of his computer by not responding and POF hocus pocus new btc.

Anyways Thank you all and sorry about all this. I will definitely know how bisq works thats for sure! :)

I definitely can see the potential for this app until banks go kaboom!

pazza83 commented 2 years ago

Hi @vsium

I think the issue is not whether or not you were in agreement with the mediation summary. Both yourself and trade peer were accepting of a cancellation of the trade with no penalty.

The issue is regards what happened at arbitration. The arbitrator received no response from you so did not award you any return of deposit.

I think the mediator can't close a trade? Can it? anyways

Correct the mediator can make a proposal but both buyer and seller need to accept it for the proposal to occur.

vsium commented 2 years ago

I get it now the seller wasnt happy and want the security deposit because he fail to mention you need autoi deposit to be able to buy from him......like I said in my true story I last talk with pazza before my bisq fuck up...yeah I got my fund back so you can close the trade and move on...thats why I wait 2 weeks. But I didnt wait for a mystery solution I tried and retried different things by reinstalling it.....trying a older version etc...etc. Why do I have to repeat myself its all there in the first post upthere.

I have a lot to do and I thought it was an error from my computer...because I was doing different thing installing linux on windows 10, got a web server, Staking....etc...it was done in my mind. YEs a simple search on github wouild do the trip, but this thing with the prompt happen overnight and was trying to figure out what I did on my computer to have this.

Why would I wait just to be in that shit knowing what I know now. What would be my point to just wait if I knew. Yeah yeah i don't know the "Rules". Bet your ass I know now. :)

jmacxx the mediation wasnt pending, I said to close the trade. Maybe I miss on clicking on a magic button. I don;t remember, just did so much stuff since then.

...anyways the timing of all this is weird just the universe telling not to use this application because I have a group and all to show them how to buy btc anyways ...i don't want this thing to happen to somebody else and this reflecting on me for some reason. And I know the seller is a big customer so lets give him a treat, he has advantage ( maybe not that ).

Like pazza just said yeah it was ok. the trade was cancel and both party was accepting but because I did not respond, lets show him, how bisq work, if you dont answer or click on a button you lose, nevermind logic!!

Is that an ego trip from the abitrator ?

I jthink I just wont have the logic outcome because I did not do one click move on a computer. Crypto is good but when I see this, its unfortunate, especially if a human brain is behind the black screen.

Anyways whatever. I am going to go bang my head into a wall :)

Thnaks to all anyways, sorry for my spelling! It wass a short but memorable trip on bisq that I found on the crypto vigilante as a member

The app is good but really complicated for a common person to deal with. Most people have a very hard time going a simple swap on Edge, imagine here woow. And belive me I aint no common man. If I have a hard time using this, which i dont, It will be hard process to replicate. All this is just politics. The arbitrator in my mind fail big time. instead of logic and want with the rules and regulation, you know the shit thats makes us pure slave to bureaucraty. And he has the final say. Maybe he just is a bot witghout a soul....

ok enough with my blablaing!

Peace and happy apocalypse to all! LEt's keep our humanity with mistake and googd or bad emotion!

Its just 0.016 btc...i lost mnore recently. But in my view this is a STEAL!
