Best practice router settings for using DNSCrypt? #392

I'm currently using simple dnscrypt on windows 10 and its working great! However, I am updating my router to tomato and going through the settings and would like to know best practice settings since i'm using dnscrypt on my desktop which is accessing the internet through the router.

If I have 'Use internal DNS' checked, would this in any way interfere with my dnscrypt properly functioning on my windows pc (or any other devices running dnscrypt)?

I would like to have it checked so that at least all my devices that aren't (or unable to) running dnscrypt could use a more privacy oriented dns server of my choosing.

I ran the extended test at dnsleaktest.com from my windows desktop and it appears all dns requests are going through dnscrypt resolvers, so perhaps there is nothing to worry about?

Any devices that have DNSCrypt will bypass the the router DNS controls completely. Routing the DNS for all other devices through the router should reduce latency since it has a cache and I would do exactly how you mentioned and pick your own DNS in the router so all requests are pointed there instead of your default ISP one.
