As we discussed at https://github.com/bitburner-official/bitburner-src/pull/1587#discussion_r1719658872, this PR adds that API.

Hey Cat, what do you want to do here? I see you "reactivated" this with a merge. XD I'm fine with proceeding on this if you are, but you originally wanted to get Snarling's opinion.

It's just my usual routine. I occasionally check my old PRs to see if they conflict with the dev branch. If they do, I'll merge them with the dev branch. About proceeding on this PR, please feel free to do it. I'm fine either way (waiting for Snarling or merging it without waiting).
