bitcoin.conf setting "connect=192.168.233.160:8333" crashes bitcoin-qt on startup

Current behaviour

bitcoin-qt crashes right after showing the splash screen with the following error message:

QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
Aborted (core dumped)

Expected behaviour

bitcoin-qt starts normally

Steps to reproduce

I can reproduce the behavior by putting this line into bitcoin.conf: connect=192.168.233.160:8333. The problem disappears and bitcoin-qt starts normally when I remove the line from the config file.
