Motor burned on test bench while not spinning #177

Setup:

ZTW Spider 40A Opto
BLHeli 14.7
Damped Light: Disabled
PWM Frequency : High
Break On Stop: On
Motor: EMAX GT2212/09 1100KV

After enabling "break on stop" and switching between Cleanflight configurator and BLHeli Suite (BLHeliSuite16314700) while keeping ESC under power motor started to burn. It was not spinning, was stationary. ESC survived

Just burned four motors up from what looks to be the same issue as you.

As soon as I enabled Brake on stop, it smoked the motors. ESCs appear to have survived but motors are toast.

Would like to know if it's because of the brake on stop or some other issue so that I can reuse these ESCs without brake on stop and be confident they won't smoke another motor.

Setup:

Lumenier Mini 20A ESC
BLHeli 14.8
Break On Stop: On
Motor: EMAX MT2204 2300KV
