Hi everyone,

I’m new to the Companion/Bitfocus community and could use some help getting started. I have a Midas M32 mixer and my goal is to create a button that can execute the "next scene" command on it.

However, I’m pretty lost when it comes to executing anything or using any commands within Companion. I don’t know where to begin and would greatly appreciate any guidance the community can provide.

Specifically, I need help with:

  1. Understanding how to start using the module.
  2. Learning how to execute commands.
  3. Creating a button that will trigger the "next scene" command for my Midas M32.

Any detailed instructions, resources, or examples would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance for your support and patience as I get up to speed with this new tool.

Best regards, Mack

@Mack1217 do you already have companion installed and running? The getting started page is a really good resource for setting up connections and then buttons are how commands are executed. Beyond that you need to have an IP set on your mixer (static IP is preferred) and then add an X32 module connection in companion.
image Buttons can execute however many actions you want. I don't use scenes so not 100% sure to the extent they're currently supported in the module. There's a load console scene, but not sure the effect of that. Hope that helps get you started and welcome to the community.

Hey so I already had everything setup, like the ip etc., basically the normal setup - The only thing im stuck at is on how i create the custom variables for the module.

Can you clarify what you're trying to do? custom variables are a different thing than module variables. all variable bits can be seen from the buttons page (if that helps) image
