Pro 7 Connection Issue

Hey, am having trouble connecting to one of my Pro 7 computers after updating to Version 3 of Companion. The debug log is HUGE and would take forever to read.

I have 3 other Pro 7 computers all on the same software and version and they are working just as they should

Versions/Environment (please complete the following information):

• ProPresenter Version 7.13
• OS of ProPresenter Machine MacOS 12.1
• Companion Version 3.0.0 rc1

We started having the same issue... I'm not sure if it's related to our update to Companion 3 or if it's something else

I have the same problem, going back to 2.4.2 of companion or disabling presentation info request it but when turning of presentation info request other things are not working so for now I run 2.4.2.

I run companion and pro presenter on the same computer with Mac OS 11.6 and Propresenter is version 7.13.1.

Same issue with 3.0.0 (FINAL), PP 7.13.1, and Ventura 13.4.1 on Apple Silicon. Reverted to 2.4.2 and we're back functional. With 3.0.0 the PP connection fails after a time (and needs to be disabled and re-enabled to come back). The connections section flickers every 2s too. Initially tested on the Mac Studio that runs our ProPresenter, but also same behaviour on a MacBook connecting to the Studio running PP.

Turning off presentation info request solved it for us but I’m not sure what the impact that option actually has?

Yes, you need to turn off "Send Presentation Info Requests".

Turning it OFF will stop updating the dynamic variables: remaining_slides, total_slides or presentation_name. You will no longer be able to display them on buttons...

However, there is also another option to configure the type of the presentation request. Pro7 users might find using the "Manual" type works well enough on their system without impacting performance/connection stability - enabling them to leave the Send Presentation Info Requests To ProPresenter enabled and enjoy the extra dynamic variables it provides.

Having the same issue with pro7 connecting to companion on version 3. I could not get it to work correctly with the above solution however. Any updates as to what is going on?

Having the same issue, it does resolve when turning off presentation requests for us too. This however is a feature that has become critical for our workflow. Rolling back to ProPresenter 7.12 resolves the connection issue and allows this feature to work.

EDIT: I was also able to work around this still using 7.13 by changing my info requests to manual I also turning off timer polling as we don't need this feature currently.
