The name of the device, hardware, or software you would like to control: TEVO-VHD20N (Tenveo)

What you would like to be able to make it do from Companion: Control with Visca Protocol, Especially: Set and Recall Preset, Set speed, Pan tilt and zoom

Direct links or attachments to the ethernet control protocol or API:

Have you tried any of the existing visca modules?

MSDR2023 commented 1 year ago

Yes I have Tried Various Modules But only Ptz Optics Worked To some Degree, it only could use The Controls, (Pan Tilt Zoom), Save And Recall Presets Didnt work. When i tried Other Visca Modules, nothing Worked. I have bought Another Camera from SMTAV that uses The Same Driver and everything works from the Start. I could send you The PTZ camera If you want to take a Look at it. vom Mobiltelefon gesendetAm 05.07.2023 15:22 schrieb Joseph Adams @.***>: Have you tried any of the existing visca modules?

I have the same Problem. If i save the preset it saves it in the camera with Preset001. If i Save a Preset in the Camera Configuration over IP it saves Preset 1. Have anybody an Idea what can i do? The SMTAV is for me to expensive.

Same problem here...does everything but save and recall. Any movement on this would be GREATLY appreciated!!

jswalden commented 6 months ago

If you can get a copy of the VISCA protocol specs for the cameras, you could use the PTZOptics module and just use exclusively custom commands for everything. (Or, for the commands that are differently encoded, like presets.) It wouldn't be a pleasant approach, to be sure. But it would be a minimum-requirements approach, at least.

MSDR2023 commented 6 months ago

I tried this a year ago with the available documentation. Without success. You probably need a bit more programming knowledge and experience with it. It would be a help to get started.

We have finally found a solution to this issue: instead of just using Visca Protocol, you additionally have to run a second connection to the camera with the same IP adress using the Onvif Device Module. You have to use Port 2000 because thats the standart port for onvif protocol in the camera. When you are programming your companion, you can run most oft he functions oft he camera over visca protocol, while the save preset and restore presets run over onvif protocol.

Based on a report I got from someone with a Tenveo camera just the other day, it may be possible to control these cameras, to some degree, with the PTZOptics module...

...but not any more, because Tenveo cameras don't respond to VISCA commands the same way PTZOptics cameras do. (PTZOptics cameras respond with VISCA ACK and Completion, 90 4y FF and 90 5y FF, while Tenveo cameras seemingly respond with some sort of ASCII strings.) And the PTZOptics module was recently updated to start parsing command responses.

I poked around briefly on Tenveo's site and couldn't find any documentation of their VISCA support, but I didn't look terribly long. Someone could probably at least make a start on it by forking an older commit from the PTZOptics module, but without docs it's not going to be obvious how to make appropriate changes to it.

Hallo,

I solved the problem by installing a second driver in the Companion with the onvif protocol on the same IP address of the camera. The Tenveo now has 2 device drivers in the Companion. I now make the PTZ set and recall commands via the onvif protocol. The rest via the visca protocol. This is only cumbersome when programming, in practical work it doesn't matter. I have one of these camera sticks. It only runs with the onvif protocol. That gave me the idea to test it out. With success. Please pass it on to other Tenveo users.
