Dear Community,

Would it be possible to integer a module for the Live TV Switcher Panasonic AV-HS450 ?

That would be extremely useful.

Let me know !

Best Regards,

Gautier

What are you looking to do?

josephdadams commented 3 years ago

@McHauge any similarity to the other Panasonic devices you've worked with?

McHauge commented 3 years ago

Don't think so, from what I can see/find, it only does Serial communication, even though it has an ethernet jack...

What are you looking to do?

I was hoping we could be able to switch sources remotely, do basic liveswitcher operations for automatization.

@Pepito-06 If you can find any documentation that suggests that is possible then we can look at it, but after having a search through Panasonic dev/documentation website (behind the password lock) I can't find anything except firmware update over ethernet.

have you seen the HS450 being controlled remotely over ethernet before?

One thing that's definitely possible is to control it with a TCP -> Serial converter, as the HS450 supports serial control with no problem.

Maybe you could connect the computer running Companion to it and use the generic-serial module?

There's a definitely a way to control HS450 over ethernet but I'm afraid the protocol is still unknown. The only device that was able to work with it was now deprecated Venetex VS-R45E: https://www.venetex.jp/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/VS-R45E_3.0b.pdf

The control software and documentation mentions multicast communication on 224.0.0.200 apart from the IP port of the mixer (i'm guessing all the tally notifications go the multicast route).
