bitlbee-steam causes Steam to go offline #146

This issue is rather strange.

If I run bitlbee-steam, and then run the Steam client on the same machine, the following happens:

  1. bitlbee-steam disconnects (e.g.: Error: Failed to retrieve requested friend summaries)
  2. bitlbee-steam reconnects
  3. Steam displays "No connection", and loses all connectivity (e.g. downloads don't work, inventory shows "USER's inventory is currently private."

If I stop bitlbee-steam (account steam off) and restart the Steam client, it works again.

The only workaround I found to run both at the same time is to fully proxify the Steam client using redsocks.
