It seems, that in the schematic the pins of R2 and R3 are swapped accidentially (or in the example :-) ). Schematic says R2 -> pin 13 and R3 -> pin 12, example says R2 -> pin 12 and R3 -> pin 13. Should be clarified/corrected.
