StartPage not using POST from address bar #4

I have Startpage set to default search engine via the official StartPage extension from https://add.startpage.com/

When searching from the address bar, Startpage uses GET, even if POST is selected in Startpage's settings page and if "POST Search Privacy" is enabled.

Maybe setting Startpage as the default search engine without using the official Startpage extension would fix this? I'm looking for a way to set this without the extension...

It's been a while but I think the default extension overrides it. I'll go through and retest the extension. I haven't used it in a while because I started using vivaldi browser, which takes care of this automatically.

Startpage search confirmed working properly when official Startpage extension is not installed. A notice recommending uninstall of official Startpage and DuckDuckGo extensions will be added to the web store description and README.

I think the reason I was using the official Startpage extension was to set Startpage as the default search engine when searching from the address bar in Google Chrome, since Google Chrome didn't have a built-in method of setting Startpage as default.

I've since moved on to other Chromium browsers, and am able to set Startpage as default in them without needing to use the official Startpage extension.
