What search terms do we want to track our ranking for, and over what period?
question back to you @dylan-bitovi : Does it make more sense to just focus on a single (or small set) of keywords, or should we somehow just blast a bunch of keywords?
Who are our competitors that already exist in this space and where do they rank? maybe this: https://github.com/bitovi/bitops/issues/65 ?
should disambiguate that bitops does not compete with the likes of jenkins, gitlab pipelines, github actions, circleCI, travis, spinnaker, etc.
re keywords: can we just drop a 'hidden' paragraph with all of these search terms in it?
something like:
<p style="visibility:hidden;">
keyword one
keyword two
..etc
</p>
cc @moschel does that count toward SEO? is there a place we can just 'spam' the seo thingie?
To update with the results from the research:
a small set of keywords rather than a large dump is more preferable, as you get some priority for gearing sites to a few select key phrases and having those phrases appear frequently on your pages
hiding keywords doesn't really have any effect as Google does render page images rather than just text scanning, so tricks don't really have much effect
keywords that have decent value propositions:
Keyword | Search Volume (Global) | CPC (Global) |
---|---|---|
devops tools | 22,200 | $3.28 |
infrastructure as code | 27,100 | $10.11 |
orchestration tools | 9,900 | $0.41 |
'Orchestration' as a term appears to be trending in volume as well as 'devops'.

How many downloads/pulls do we want as a target as users test Bitops and can we gather a community contribution?
