Using latest bitcoind #496

I see there is a script for the 0.12.1 version of bitcoind but how do we download the new 0.14.0 ?

I'm wondering the same thing. Are we going to have to wait for a full release of Bitcore? I know some people have tried updating just bitcoind in the past and it causes problems.

I'm running the latest 0.14.1 though. Yet no problems.

It (bitcoind) is standalone btw. since a while, so updates shouldn't have that major impact than in earlier versions of bitcore-node.

To upgrade you just need to replace the symlink in bitore-node/bin/ with one to the newer version.

@wzrdtales Thanks for the info. For some reason I remember people having issues on the forum but it could have been as simple as just forgetting to update the symlink. I will give it a shot on my dev node and see what happens. Thanks again!

@technyne No problem, but I can't assure that there are no problems as I don't utilize all functions of bitcore-node currently though.

A bit sad that bitpay has kind of abandoned this project.
