Importing KeepKey XPUB into BitPay Feature request #6717

I exported an XPUB from a KeepKey hardware wallet and now I would like to import that into the BitPay app to get a view-only wallet but it won't let me, is this not supported? The XPUB is unencrypted and I put it in a plain .txt file.

I'm using Import Wallet - File/Text, and I input the file there, The app wants me to enter a password to continue, but since the file is unencrypted there is no password for me to enter. Can the BitPay app only import XPUBs that came from BitPay? I notice the unencrypted XPUB I got from my hardware wallet is a lot shorter (it's about 60 characters) than the encrypted XPUB I can export from BitPay itself.

Unfortunately no. The file/text import process only accept the exported format from the app.

Is there no way to convert the XPUB into the format the BitPay app accepts? I could input the actual KeepKey wallet seed info BitPay, export the XPUB from there and use that, but that defeats the entire point of hardware cold storage.

There is a way. You need to know how to program though.

I'd rather turn this question into a feature request :) how do I do that? "please enable importing of XPUB"
