Thanks for this! However I'm going to just pin us to <2.7 for now (re #84) - if that project is going to make breaking changes within minor releases I can't actually pin them...semantically... 🙃

If you or others have an actual need for semantic-version 2.7+ please let me know - to my knowledge this codebase itself does not need, or benefit from, any changes in recent semantic-version releases.
