NEI doesn't populate crafting area with ingrediates from workbench inventory when shift clicking the [?] button #1

Holding shift and clicking the ? button on an NEI recipe should populate the crafting area with the required material if it is available. Currently, NEI does not recognize the workbench inventory's slots as valid sources.

I'm working on implementing support for this feature for future versions.

Fixed in the latest build, will be in future versions going forward.
