If we use the same SICK safety hardware as in the fellesverkstedet prototype we will have a nice reset button next to the e-stop that blinks when it should be pressed.
If we keep the existing shopbot control card as a safety card we have an existing reset button.
It is important that the grbl abort pin gets a high signal when the e-stop is pressed. The easiest might be to to keep our existing 5V drop watchdog safety on the HRBL card. The shopbot controll cabinet already have a 5V powersupply.
Currently the shopbot safety bar only pauses the controll. It does not kill power to vfd and drivers via contactors. We need to decide if we should keep a similar configuration or kill power with the bar. If we implement autohome it should not be any trouble to kill power with the safety bars.
In a later stage of this development we should make a proper safety wall ala fellesverkstedet. This has already been discussed and informally approved at bitraf
After emergency stop (estop) is activated, it is not enough to remove the estop signal to resume operation, in addition a secondary action is required (example: press of a reset button).
