Thanks for the post. Great info.

Also having issues and am going to try removing the CNAME entry as you encountered.

Just in case (as I'm sure you would've noted it if it was necessary), did you need to add a CAA record for the https cert to be issued correctly?

@tjex Glad to hear you found it useful. I didn't have to add a CAA record (actually I had never even heard of it until you mentioned it here). In the end making it all work turned out to be surprisingly straightforward.

Wasn't a case of CAA record for me either... Was a terribly awesome human error on my behalf of not naming my repo <username>.github.io... classic
