Very slow page load when enabled in Firefox 96.0.1 #2277

Steps To Reproduce

  1. With Firefox 96.0.1 and Bitwarden 1.55.0 on Windows 8.1
  2. Go to https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/BAC?p=BAC
  3. Click on "Conversations"

Expected Result

It should open the "Conversations" page fairly quickly.

Actual Result

After roughly 10 seconds of waiting, the "Conversations" page content (posts by users) appears. This delay happens every time, and only when Bitwarden add-on is enabled.

No response

Additional Context

Before Firefox autoupdated to version 96.0.1, this issue never happened. After the update, it is consistent, even after restarting Firefox and the computer.

When I turn off the Bitwarden add-on, the issue immediately goes away. The "Conversations" page content loads almost immediately. When I re-enable the Bitwarden add-on, the issue comes back.

Other possibly relevant add-ons in use:

However, the issue happens even when all other add-ons are disabled and just Bitwarden remains enabled. I also tried with and without the autofill option, but that doesn't change the outcome. Same thing with different URI Match options, including "Never".

I also noticed that if I open the link in a new tab, the issue doesn't happen. It seems to affect SPA style websites.

I tried rolling back Bitwarden versions all the way back to version 1.40, but the issue happens on every version. I restarted Firefox between each install of an earlier Bitwarden version.

I also removed Bitwarden completely and reinstalled the latest version again, but the issue still persists, immediately after installing Bitwarden - without even logging into my Bitwarden account on the plugin!

So it seems that Firefox 96.0.1 broke something fundamentally in regards to the Bitwarden add-on.

Edit: Actually it's now Firefox 96.0.2

I have tried the same with latest Firefox 96.0.3 on macOS - no issues. So maybe something related to Windows/FF/BW mix
