Thanks for raising this.
I'm aware that current startup flow lacks a lot. Personally I didn't have time to improve it. Priority has always been dealing with bugs and improving synchronizers so far. UI/UX related stuff has always been postponed.
This is something I want to include for sure. Let's track this need in this issue for now.
No worry, still better than One Outlook or the old Mail & Calendar 🙌
Describe the solution you'd like Hi, I love the app, beautifully done with native WinUI, even Microsoft can't be bothered.
But I personnaly found the first launch experience a little confusing. I personally clicked the "New mail" button in the top left and got an error instead of the manage account on the bottom left (which require a second "Add account" click once inside the menu).
I wonder why does the first launch shows the changelog ? A better user experience would be to onboard the user into adding their first account, like the Outlook app.
Also, as an iCloud user, once i started adding my account I found it confusing only displaying Gmail and Outlook as top-level choice, I was not sure selecting IMAP would work for iCloud. It would be wise to prominently display all major email provider on the splashscreen or onboarding (adding Yahoo, iCloud), and in the list when adding your first account.
Is your proposal implemented in Windows Mail? Yes
