Neat! The effect is nice, but the pulsing might be a bit much. Maybe a much more gentle pulsing? (Say between 1 and 0.9 opacity or something).

I was also sort of thinking that the notification would be something you could click on that would take you to the bottom of the page. I'll give this some more thought.
