progress feedback for steps complete on startup #187

Some phones take a long time to do the initial startup. there are several steps where it looks like it will finish, but several more steps are needed.

Two options
- Have a checklist for steps that are being done.. (easiest).
- Calculate estimate each step and it's percentage of the process and make a progress bar. (more difficult)
