Delete key insert text instead of deleting

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Create an email, type 2 sentences using the default email program (not Gmail 
or an app from the Market). For example: The black cat is fat.  The red cat is 
a dead cat.
2.Move cursor from current location, e.g. after the period at the end the 2nd 
sentence, to an arbitary location, e.g. before the i in is in the 1st sentence.
3.Use delete key to try to delete the word cat in the 1st sentence

What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?
Expect to be able to delete the word cat & the space following it, but instead 
the whole 2nd sentence, with the exception of the period, is pasted in at the 
location of the cursor, e.g. in between cat and is

What version of Hacker's Keyboard are you using? (See "Debug" section at
the bottom of the app's Settings menu.)
On what phone or tablet?
Hacker's Keyboard v1.31.1311 on a Samsung Skyrock (AT&T), running Andoid 4.0.3 
build IML74K
If applicable, does this affect the 4-row or 5-row layout, or both? 
Both
Which language(s)? English

I have the same problem.  Started when ice was released for my samsong galaxy 
tablet.  Only happens in email.
