With the revisionsEpi notebook this might be solved now. Anyone have strong feelings against switching to N clusters, mean, stdev and skewness as the filters?
I have mild feelings. As long as you keep the "old" ones for comparison, I'm ok. I just want to be sure something crazy is not going to pop out because we switched "filters". And remember I bet your scientific reputation on skewness not mattering. .. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
We're good with new stats:
I like this a lot. The only thing that seems possibly missing is that current figure 3 (mers_epi
) now shows mean and skewness in the scatterplot. We don't get to ever see standard deviation. This may be okay. I don't have a good solution here.
Page 5. Your summary statistics are mean, median and standard deviation of cluster size. It seems odd not to have a statistic measuring skewness, given how skew the cluster sizes seem to be. Why did you not use one? Do you think you would have got similar results with one?
