New: Something that isn’t in the system is now in the system (New Contact)
Delete: Something that is in the system is now gone from the system
Add: Something is in the system and associated with something else in the system (Add student to Class)
Remove: Something that is in the system is no longer associated with something else in the system.
Create: Don’t use it and don’t put Create and New together “Create New….”
The verbiage guidance started around a conversation on button labels, but it is intended to apply across the board, so make it clear that this distinction is not just for button labels but is also areas where we refer to adding/deleting items elsewhere in UX content..
