What if you try and retrieve the phone number?
Dan went through all the APIs and informed me that he could do all of them without using identity.phone?

This may be a good place for having different feature IDs dependent on the platform (something we just introduced)
The documentation states that to use blackberry.identity you need both features blackberry.identity & blackberry.identity.phone. It seems to work if you just include blackberry.identity.
