You can get the webworks version from the command-line with webworks version, which will yields something, like, v2.1.0.12.
The version which is embedded into the shortcut file on Windows might list a version, but that isn't actually related to the webworks version (since you can rename the shortcut, or change the version to which it points).
There isn't actually any way to see the real webworks version from the GUI itself.
I spoke w/ @rcruz about this, and I thought we proposed to put it next to either the BlackBerry or the Hippo logos...
