add to the https://docs.blackboard.com/dvba/Using%20the%20Blackboard%20Learn%20AMI%20for%20REST%20and%20LTI%20Development.html doc the following:after “select Actions => Edit DNS Hostnames —> Change DNS hostnames: to YES”

Startup time: The startup time for your EC2 will vary and may take as long as 10 minutes before you may access the site via your browser. SSH access may be available in 3 minutes or less. and

replacing the current 502 Gateway error line with:

If you see 502 Gateway errors, you may need to increase the size of your AMI. Additionally you may periodically see a 502 Gateway error during use - keeping in mind EC2s based on this AMI are not intended for use as a Production service, you may simply issue a reboot to restart the server maintaining your AWS provisioned public IP and DNS settings.
