Artisan unable to open serial port: Omega HH806AU

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  using omega HH806AU with recommended windows drivers (win7 64bit)
2.  initial install of software and check showed both probes (com4?) but after 
hitting 'reset' could not get probes to show again
3.  originally it was showing '0 bytes received' and i noticed the port 
information for com3 did not match artisan (different bits per second and 
parity.  
4.  changed windows to match artisan and now am getting the following error 
message in artisan "Serial Exception: Unable to open serial port"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
artisan 5.6, win7 64bit

Please provide any additional information below.

If you open the Serial Ports Configuration dialog via the Config/Serial Port 
menu, meter connected and switched on, and press "Scan for Ports" does your 
devices port show up in the Comm Port popup?
