This is an ugly hack,
but until someone figure out the correct way to calculate the last 2 bytes in 760,
this is better than the cavebot getting stuck all the time
seems the last 2 bytes depend on items, players standing on top, and
a special case for "tiles containg splash" (blood, water, wine, etc, this is the "SS +1")
this code seem to never fail, when ladder tile contains any combination of bodies, blood splat, fire field, items, and creatures (including yourself) standing on the tile
