Fix for Gnome 41 #72

'timer' variable was undefined in some cases. Moved it inside the if block. Tested and works for Gnome 41.2

Could this PR be merged into main? It fixes the extension on Ubuntu 21.10 (will try it also on 22.04 in next days).

I was getting the error 'timer is undefined' and this worked pretty well for me ! Thanks
