Sometimes the answer is a route that looks ridiculous, with a short walking distance segment, or multiple #8

Perhaps some routes should be excluded from the set of possible daily answers if one of their 3 segments is shorter than 0.5 miles?

What other potential solutions are there to this frustrating problem for users?

That's a great suggestion in regards of weeding out short segments. I'll look into the feasibility of incorporating that in future solutions.
