v70 mods r15 & r51 Error Setting Up Fragments, ID Mismatch, SetWBFS -3 #107

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Using a Wii [RVL-001(USA) version 3] that is incompatible with Mario Kart
Wii original retail disc, a Toshiba 1 TB Canvio Basics 3.0 Portable Hard Drive
[NTFS], and 16 GB Kingston Micro-SDHC . Start with CFG v70 initial release.
Test a few games and note that they all load properly.

2. Update to mod r15 or mod r51 and restart the program.

3. Go to Settings within CFG and save to generate new settings.cfg and
gamelist.txt.

4. Start testing games. Specifically, I tested ABBA: You Can Dance, The
$1,000,000 Pyramid, Tetris Party Deluxe, and Trivial Pursuit: Bet You Know It
(which needs alt .dol to get to Classic Trivial Pursuit).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The first couple of games worked fine, but after a couple of restarts, all of
the games will only load some of the time. Especially after testing $1,000,000
Pyramid or Classic Trivial Pursuit. I begin to receive the messages "ERROR:
Setting up fragments -# #," "ID Mismatch: [GAMEID] []," and "ERROR: SetWBFS-3."

Once the problem begins, it can be worked-around some of the time by changing
any setting in a specific game's options. For instance, with $1,000,000
Pyramid, IOS was set from Auto to 249 and then saved and the game was able to
load successfully a few times. But after a few restarts, the problem returned.
And the solution was illogical because CFG loaded IOS 249 when it was on Auto
so hard-setting it shouldn't have made a difference. I've gotten the games to
work some of the time by toggling settings for IOS (locally) and Patches
(locally, then globally), but it's hit or miss, as it only worked some of the
time, and seems to be session-specific. After the error starts occurring, it
seems like the games will only work after an individual setting is adjusted and
saved, and even that wasn't 100%.

Reverting back to initial release v70 resolves all issues and all games begin
loading again as if r15 and r51 never happened.

What version of the product are you using?

v70 Initial Release, v70 mod r15 (default IOS 249), and v70 mod r51

Please attach the log file if possible (system->debug->save debug).

Attached log of issue occurring with mod r51.

Please attach a syscheck if possible.

Included.

Please provide any additional information below.

The issue still occurred when settings.cfg and config.txt were intentionally
excluded from the SD card.

I've narrowed this issue down to the hard-drive. Specifically REV 0001 of my
Toshiba drive caused this issue, while REV 0000 of the same drive did not.

Updating to v70r51 and now v70r65 were a success with the REV 0000 drive. And
not sure why, but the REV 0001 drive also began to work with the mods r51 and
r65 after the update was processed from the REV 0000 drive.

Something did not read/write successfully when using the REV 0001 drive after
performing the update. Even when I updated manually from a PC, there was an
issue with the REV 0001 drive and CFG. Somehow, using the REV 0000 drive after
the update closed the loop and now both drives work fine.
