I have some events clips with no objects in them (I only use person) while the associated clip contains the object.
I am assuming you mean "associated snapshot contains the object" correct?
Also, 0.9.1 is an older version. I would recommend at least updating to 0.9.4 as it seems these versions fixed an issue like what you are experiencing
yes that is correct
I am not sure about the versioning, it's confusing. If I look at Frigate itself it shows Current version: 2.0 but in Debug it is 0.9.1 and I don't see any update available
The addon has different versioning. There is version 2.1 and 3.0 that should be available
You can see the releases here: https://github.com/blakeblackshear/frigate-hass-addons/blob/main/frigate/CHANGELOG.md

I install through HACS and I dont see an upgrade available, what do I do?
Hacs and the addon store are two different things. Are you looking in the right place?
My Bad, I install from the addon store. I select Frigate NVR ( full access).
Does your install have internet connection? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the addon?
It has internet access. I manually added a repo https://github.com/blakeblackshear/frigate-hass-addons And now I see 3.1 but not 2.1
With 3.1 available I'd say just use that unless there's a particular reason you don't want to be on that version
I will have to see if there are breaking changes before upgrading. Will see that in the morning. Thank you for your help
So I upgraded to 3.1 and the same issue is happening. I receive a notification of motion and the clip in the notification shows the person but the video is delayed and is after the person has left
That implies then that the detect and record streams are out of sync. Do you have timestamps on your video feeds to see what the difference is between the snapshot and the recording?
Timestamps from the camera directly ?
Timestamps from the camera directly ?
Correct, that would help see if the streams are out of sync
Unfortunately I don't have a timestamp but this is not always happening and today I found out another issue, some events don't get captured at all on another camera. I walked by the camera with my daughter and was never detected.
Without having a video playback or seeing the debug screen it is difficult for me to understand what is going on / could be happening.
Which debug screen?
The debug camera screen inside frigate. It allows you to see the bounding boxes, motion, etc. that the camera sees. If you are able to watch it while this is happening (or have the full recording of the missed event) then it makes it easier to diagnose.
I have also found https://github.com/blakeblackshear/frigate/issues/3043 which may be related to what you are experiencing but we have also seen similar behavior due to out-of-sync camera streams.
I tried before but it's not always happening so I couldn't figure out the reason. I will look at the other issue you pointed, maybe it will guide me to something
This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions.
