Saving Screen to avoid burnouts #63

Hi Blastrock,

I recently got a 256gb microsd for my sd2vita I have been downloading so much recently and since im using a PSV1000 im worried that my screen will have burnouts if it stays on for a long time. I was thinking if you could put a button to where it will put the screen on black while its downloading then another button to put it back on. I think this feature will be very helpful for Oled users.

I tried to just turn my screen off but it disconnects my download after some time I hope you can work on an alternative. Thanks

A definitive solution would use the download manager from psvita. Yes, the icon on the right upper corner of the home screen. We can choose the game from pkgj. when click to download, the game start to download in manager, not in pkgj. Dont know if it is possible.

Then, we could turn screen off (with the power button) and psvita wont turn wifi off too...

I dont know nothing about dev things, but i saw something like SceMarlinDownloader... If you need more help, you could try irc (https://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23vitasdk)

This is proposed in #42 . I will try passing by that channel, but given the amount of information on the internet on that, my hopes are low :(

On the meanwhile, could a black screen after a timeout be implemented to avoid the burnouts?

I'd recommend a sort of screensaver, something that's animated in a way that won't create burn marks of still images for aol of those long downloads.

If you want to save your screen, I'd suggest you just have a black background with a dark theme icon set. The Playstation 20th Anniversary has some good dark theme icon sets for the Vita.

@kamarukou didn't need this feature according to this comment: https://github.com/blastrock/pkgj/issues/53#issuecomment-417877963

I was wondering, for people whose PSTV go to sleep when the TV is off, try to find and disable an option named AnyNet+ or HDMI-CEC on your TV, it might fix the issue.

You can just turn your brightness down I think :?
