Discord doesn't federate to the outside world #8

Vendor lock-in is bad for everyone. Here's a few dreams:

  1. TeamSpeak has a Matrix client. Why isn't Discord a Matrix client? Wasn't Discord meant to be better than TeamSpeak?
  2. Why isn't there an option to expose a Discord community/channel as a Matrix space/room built in?
  3. Why is there no IRC/XMPP/Matrix gateway for existing accounts?
