Hello, I just heard about BlendOS, and I absolutely loved it! I want to make an Openbox spin for you guys using my own configs. My theme's look is a mix of KDE Plasma and Gnome, see for yourself!

Just tested OpenBox and well... I completely forgot Waydroid apps doesn't work on Xorg. So I can recreate some of my config in labwc (openbox'ish wayland compositor) if that's ok. Or we can find a solution without Waydroid but Waydroid is certainly the best android emulator so far.

I'd say Labwc is the best fit for something like this, but I'm not sure if the apps you showed there (such as tint2 or polybar) do work in a Wayland environment. Removing Waydroid (which, btw, is not an emulator, but actual Android running in a container) doesn't seem like a good idea, it's part of the appeal of this distro after all. I saw that LXQt was using Sway (or something based on it) to build their Wayland version of the DE, that might also be something worth considering.

Ah I already found a solution for that, prerelease version of xfce4-panel works fine on Wayland. So I don't need tint2 or polybar. Also, other programs have replacements as well such as rofi. I'd say the only problem with this is xfce4-panel (wayland alpha) not being in any of the package managers at the moment aside from AUR probably. I compiled it myself to try but I don't think It will be ok to ship a version of BlendOS with that. So I'd say we wait until wayland version of xfce4-panel comes to Arch official repositories. Which I'm guessing late this year to mid next year.

LXQT (if I know correctly) is still not ready for Wayland and you probably don't want to push something with it.

Any updates on this? I'd really like a labwc spin with Android apps support
