SmartKeys not responding properly in iOS14 #1065

Many bugs in the iOS14 bar. Most of the time the first render of the bar has double the size. If the keyboard disappears then it may render properly. This can be easily triggered swiping between windows. I’m experiencing it with iPhone XR. 9A3E691E-8E73-4420-BBA7-95EBDF492B22

CTRL and Alt sequences are not being sent during tap. Additionally, holding control or Alt isn’t working either so you cannot chain commands.

These bugs existed since forever for me, on older iOSes as well. They certainly exist on my iOS 13 nowadays. I frequently have to pinch the keyboard to make it small and then pinch it again to make it big to get the custom keys to work.

I downloaded the app about May 2020 and the smartkeys worked. Now they are never visible, not in small keyboard either. Updated to 13.5.9 for blink app and no fix. iPad(7th) 14.0

@tautme you can turn them back with Settings.app -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts

@yury Sorry for my need for detailed instructions. This is what I tried and didn't get the keys for arrow and control.

  1. type 'config' on command line
  2. Select 'keyboard' in 'TERMINAL' section
  3. Toggle on 'Custom Keyboards' on I restart app and still no bar above the on screen keyboard.

@tautme sorry for confusion.

  1. open Settings.app (not blink, system settings app)
  2. open General settings section
  3. open Keyboard section
  4. turn on Shortcuts toggle there.
