Soldering issues with Beginner Level Experiance. #1

Great set. However: Just soldered with a beginner and it turns out that the paint on the circuit board is a bit thin. A short circuit can quickly occur at three points where plus and minus are close together (circled in red). Not so suitable for beginners

One Solution would be the usage of trough holes, but would destroy the clean aesthetics, an other solution would be to scale the whole PCB up by 20..30% but keep the size of the components, the gained space might solve the issues and keeps the 'front clean'

Hi Moe, thank you for the feedback. Wow. Where did you get this PCB? ^^

This is not ours. The Version is very old, and there is even the manufacturer number on it, which we always remove bevor manufacturing.

The newer Version has some enhancements, and also this paint looks reaaalllyyy thin.
