Rework the interface for mobile-first

In the interests of the possibility of future collaboration with Manyverse and the hope that this could one day be a mobile application, the interface demands a rework that takes a mobile-first approach. In the long run this will make porting it over relatively smooth - little extra styling will need to be added. It also means we can define our interface as original and markedly different from other existing apps in the scuttleverse.
