SDG #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities - City of Austin

Looking for real-world problems to solve during the incubator? The City of Austin is asking you to address challenges they are facing while they develop a digital identity wallet for people experiencing homelessness in their city.

A two-year investigation into the lived experience of people experiencing homelessness in the City of Austin revealed that every person relies on secure and authentic identification documents to access government services and find employment. Because blockchains provide the utmost security and control over data, the City of Austin began building a blockchain-based identity wallet, MyPass. The City of Austin is inviting you to problem-solve their toughest challenges, listed as projects below. Upon completion, the team will open-source the project, combatting the homeless crisis across the country and contributing to the digital identity community as a whole.

Project: Legal Research What is the best approach to legally transfer notarizations using the verified credential (VC) system described in detail on our GitHub? Your solution must provide substantial legal evidence that it is an enforceable VC implementation of digital notarization. Requirements:

Project: Multifactor (m of n) Login Homeless people are overcoming trauma that shapes how they interact with others and experience the world. We are designing a trauma-informed DID system that needs to be easy-to-use for anyone who has the right to access it. How would you elegantly design a secure login system for all different types of people coming from different traumatic experiences--people who may struggle to remember passwords, distrust sharing personal information, struggle with reading, etc.? Requirements:

Project: Classifying Illicit Content without Sacrificing User Privacy Implement a media classifier that filters illicit content in a PDF or a photo. It needs to be determined if the photo or pdf contains illicit content without sacrificing user privacy.

Project: Classifying Identity Documents into Types Implement a classifier that categorizes standard identity documents. The following list includes the documents targeted for homelessness services some have ISO standards some do not:

I believe we may have some overlap in our design and your needs. WolfPack has spent the last year researching homeless in Denver and have come to similar conclusions!
